CNN Anchor Pamela Brown, a 2002 graduate of Lexington’s Henry Clay High School, will on Friday be presented Fayette County Public Schools’ 2026 Distinguished Alumni Award.

Brown grew up in Lexington. She is the daughter of the late John Y. Brown Jr., a businessman and former Kentucky governor; and the late Phyllis George, a businesswoman, actor, and broadcast journalist.

Brown will return to Lexington to get the annual award named in honor of Gov. Andy Beshear, who was the first recipient in 2024.

She will meet with journalism and political science students at Henry Clay, district officials said.

Pamela Brown is a multi award-winning CNN anchor and chief investigative correspondent who currently anchors “The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer and Pamela Brown” weekdays from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., a news release said.

Brown earned a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In 2023, she completed a Master of Studies in Law degree from George Washington University.
