Officials are blocking off specific sections of New Circle Road this week for pothole repairs, according to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.

The closures will take place at the Tates Creek Road and Lansdowne Drive overpasses on New Circle Road. The transportation cabinet said the right lane will be closed at the Tates Creek Road overpass Wednesday, and the left lane will be closed at the Lansdowne Drive overpass Friday.

The closures will be in effect from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., according to the transportation cabinet. Pothole repair work has already been done in the right lane of the Chinoe Road overpass Tuesday.

“Motorists should use caution, reduce speed and watch for personnel and equipment in the work zone,” the transportation cabinet said in a news release.

The westbound inner loop over Chinoe Road also was closed Tuesday.

North Broadway closure

Transportation cabinet officials are planning to close a section of North Broadway near downtown Lexington next week. Crews are already conducting overnight pavement repair operations on the road Tuesday and Wednesday, but more work is scheduled for next week that will result in alternating lane closures.

The closures are expected to begin Tuesday, May 19. The transportation cabinet said the additional work will take place between 12th Street and 2nd Street.

“Traffic impacts and lane closures will be announced in advance as work progresses,” the transportation cabinet said. “Drivers should reduce speed, use caution and watch for crews in the area.”
