Crash shuts down major Lexington road during Friday afternoon rush hour
A serious collision shut down inbound lanes of Athens Boonesboro Road in Lexington Friday afternoon.
The crash, reported just before 5 p.m., happened on Athens Boonesboro at Jacobson Park, according to the Lexwrecks account on the social media platform X.
Multiple people were being taken to the hospital, according to the Lexington Fire Department’s dispatch screen, and the Lexington Police Department’s Collision Reconstruction Unit was being called to the scene.
Outbound lanes of Athens Boonesboro were open.
