Overnight house fire in Lexington leaves four people, neighbor displaced

An overnight house fire in Lexington left four people and a neighbor displaced due to the damage, according to the Lexington Fire Department.

The fire happened around 11:33 p.m. Sunday in the 4100 block of Needlerush Drive. Battalion Chief Derek Roberts said first-arriving firefighters found advanced fire conditions at the home and requested more help.

Firefighters used a defensive attack to extinguish the fire, Roberts said. No injuries were reported.

Four people from the home that caught on fire have been displaced. Roberts said one person from a neighboring home has also been displaced due to fire exposure and electrical damage.

The cause and origin of the fire is unknown. Roberts said a fire investigator is inspecting the damage.
