Students rally in Frankfort against pipeline

About a dozen college and high school students who oppose the proposed Bluegrass Pipeline rallied Friday at the state capitol in Frankfort. The protesters, part of the Kentucky Student Environmental Coalition, hoped to draw attention to surveys done for the pipeline across state property without permission, according to a news release. The Kentucky State University Research and Demonstration Farm and Kincaid Lake apparently were surveyed without permission, the students said. The group opposes opening state-owned lands to what it considers dangerous and environmentally destructive natural gas liquids pipelines.
