Escaped Fayette County inmate caught, returned to jail
Escaped Fayette County jail inmate James E. Gregory was returned to the jail at 10:28 p.m. Wednesday, authorities said.
A court-ordered medical pass allowed Gregory's release at 1 p.m. Tuesday, according to jail officials. Gregory failed to return to the jail at his deadline of 4 p.m.
He is being held on his original charges of third-degree burglary, and operating on a suspended or revoked license. He also was charged with escape.
