CASA Superhero Run is Saturday at Kentucky Horse Park
Superheroes of all kinds will again invade the Kentucky Horse Park on Saturday for the Court Appointed Special Advocates Superhero Run. Activities will include a 1K for children 12 and younger, which begins at 8:30 a.m., followed by a 5K for all ages.
The 5K will see many participants wearing costumes, and there will be superhero figurines along the course that can be picked up and redeemed for prizes at the finish. There are more than $25,000 worth of prizes.
At the conclusion of the races, there will be awards, costume contests and other activities, including face painting, making your own comic and superhero mask, inflatables, games, superheroes and more.
CASA is a nonprofit that advocates for children who’ve experienced abuse or neglect, and advocates that all children deserve the chance to grow up happy and healthy.
Registration is available at the CASA office, 1155 Red Mile Place, from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and race day outside Alltech Arena.
Advance registration is $30 for the 5K and $20 for the 1K. Day of registration is $35 for the 5K and $25 for the 1K. All participating children 12 and younger will receive a custom cape. For more information, or to register, go to Lexingtoncasa.com/#!2016-superhero-run/coca.
