Lexington police have arrested a man who was wanted in connection with the robbery of two Hibbett Sports stores.
Deverious Jones was arrested without incident Thursday afternoon, police said. He is charged with two counts of first-degree robbery and one count of first-degree burglary.
Jones is accused of robbing the Hibbett store at 1315 Winchester Road on Sept. 8.
On Sept. 13, police said he and two other people went to the Hibbett store at 3174 Richmond Road with guns and forced employees and customers into a back room. They took cash from the register and merchandise from the store, then left in a dark-colored passenger car.

On Sept. 7, Jones was one of three armed men who forced their way into a home on Lucille Drive and took the occupant’s car, money and a small amount of marijuana, police have said. Police are still looking for Tahjee Winters in connection with that break-in. A warrant for his arrest has been issued for first-degree burglary.
Police previously said they considered both men armed and dangerous. Anyone with information about Winters may call 258-3600.
