Some LEXserv accounts affected by technical problem
LEXserv, the billing program that collects sewer and landfill fees for the city, recently experienced a technical glitch that affected 221 customers.
The program is administered by Greater Cincinnati Works.
The city said in a news release that credit and debit card payment processors FIS and Chase Paymentech made multiple payment authorization attempts last weekend on the accounts that were affected. But only one payment was applied to each LEXserve account, according to Greater Cincinnati Works.
LEXserv customers with concerns can call 1-888-987-8111.
“Greater Cincinnati Works has taken immediate steps to address the problem,” the release stated.
Multiple businesses across the country were affected, the city said.
There was no breach of private information, officials said.
