Runners compete in annual Thanksgiving Day Thoroughbred Classic 5K

More than 2,360 participants from more than 30 states completed the Bluegrass Runners’ 33rd annual Thanksgiving Day Thoroughbred Classic 5K at Keeneland.

The overall female winner, Ashley Arnold, finished with a time of 18:24. The overall male winner was Brennan Fields, with a time of 16:21.

The Bluegrass Runners (Kentucky’s first and oldest running club) is a nonprofit organization, whose members stage this event every Thanksgiving to encourage running and to give back to the community. The net proceeds benefit seven local charities: Allegro Dance Project, CASA of Lexington, Central Kentucky Radio Eye, E7 Kids Café, Girls on the Run Central Kentucky, Kentucky Horse Park Foundation, and the Lexington Humane Society.
