Perry County man dies after Jeep hits embankment

A Perry County man was killed Thursday night after losing control of his car just outside of Viper.

Witnesses told Kentucky State Police and first responders that Ryan D. Hughes, 33, of Viper was traveling on Right Fork Maces Creek Road when his 2014 Jeep Compass went off the roadway, struck the embankment and returned to the roadway. Hughes was pronounced dead at the scene by the Perry County coroner.

The accident happened just after 7 p.m. Thursday, KSP said.
