DockDogs Splash competition has big air, a little wet dog smell
Water? Check. Dogs? Check. Lots of splashdowns? Triple check.
The DockDogs Splash event at Cabela's in Lexington ran Friday through Sunday and pitted pooches in three disciplines: big air (a long jump after a tossed toy), speed retrieve (a timed event featuring a toy suspended over the end of the pool), and extreme vertical (a high jump at a toy hung eight feet from the end of the dock).
The aquatic competition drew a variety of breeds from around Kentucky, from Labrador retrievers and Rottweilers to Weimaraners and German shepherds.
Similar events are held throughout the country all summer long. Go to dockdogs.com to check out the schedule.
