What’s closed for the Fourth of July holiday
Tuesday is the Fourth of July, a federal holiday. Here’s how services in Lexington will be affected:
Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government offices: Closed
U.S. Postal Service: No regular mail delivery.
Lextran: All routes will run on a modified Sunday schedule on Tuesday.
Libraries: All locations will be closed on Tuesday.
City garbage: No collection will be made on Tuesday. Residents and businesses who normally receive curbside pick-up on Tuesday will be serviced the Wednesday after the holiday. Those impacted should place their carts out after 4 p.m. on Tuesday. Curbside collection will only be impacted for those normally serviced on Tuesday.
Businesses with dumpsters (landfill-bound and recycling) normally serviced by the city on Tuesday will have their units picked up on Wednesday.
The Lexington Recycling Center, the Electronics Recycling Center and the Haley Pike Waste Management Facility will be closed on Tuesday.
