Patients of Lexington’s Shriners Hospitals for Children Medical Center and Kentucky Children’s Hospital are invited to attend a NoLimits Sports Camp from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at the University of Kentucky baseball and softball fields.

Attendees will learn the game of baseball or softball and the importance of nutrition, strength and conditioning. Patients and players will play against coaches and doctors.

“The opportunity for children to attend this camp gives them an experience that proves to have a long-lasting effect on psychosocial development, including self-esteem, peer relationships, independence, leadership, values, and willingness to try new things,” said Dr. Scottie Day, associate chief medical officer, UK HealthCare, Kentucky Children’s Hospital.

NoLimits Sports Camp is free to patients ages 5-18 regardless of physical limitations. Patients will attend baseball or softball camp based on their gender.
