Bill Walton, a member of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame and one of the NBA’s 50 Greatest Players of All Time, will share his experience of overcoming back pain at a free seminar from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Sept. 20 in the Community Room of the Women’s Hospital Saint Joseph East, 170 North Eagle Creek Drive.

Walton, a former member of the Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Clippers who was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1993, retired from the NBA in 1990 after suffering for years from back injuries. His chronic back and leg pain nearly compromised his job as a commentator and left him unable to walk, sit or drive a car.

After undergoing a medical procedure, Walton recovered and is back to his active lifestyle. He will share his story as a spokesman for The Better Way Back, a patient support and education program.

To attend, call 844-263-5916, or go to Kentuckyonehealth.org/backpainseminar. A photo opportunity with Walton will be available from 5 to 5:30 p.m.
