Interstate 64 fully reopens after morning crash

A crash Tuesday morning on Interstate 64 in Lexington hindered traffic on the normally busy road for seven hours.

A tractor-trailer was involved in the 6:30 a.m. two-vehicle crash on I-64 eastbound near the Interstate 75 split, according to the city’s traffic management center.

The tractor-trailer was straddling the guardrail after the crash, but there were no reports of injuries, according to LEX 18.

At 9:25 a.m., Lexington police tweeted that one eastbound lane was open, but lane closurings would occur for several hours. “Expect delays, plan ahead and look for alternate routes,” police tweeted.

All lanes reopened at 1:30 p.m., according to police.
