Shocking school bus crash injures three

A Lexington school bus overturned in a yard after it collided with a car at Alumni Drive and Squires Road outside of Man o’ War Boulevard, police said.

No children were on the bus.

The crash happened about 7:30 a.m. That portion of Alumni Drive at Squires was reopened about 9:45 a.m.

The driver of the car was on Squires turning inbound on Alumni but didn’t yield at the stop sign, according to police. When the car turned right, it crashed into the bus, police said. The bus spun on its side and crashed into a fence near a house.

According to police, the car’s driver was taken to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital with serious injuries. The bus driver and the monitor on the bus had minor injuries, police said.

No charges have been filed, police said.
