Midland Avenue lane closures scheduled to start Tuesday, major traffic impact expected
Lexington officials are warning motorists that Midland Avenue will be down to one lane in each direction starting Tuesday morning.
Major sanitary sewer work beginning Tuesday is scheduled to intermittently close one lane of Midland Avenue in each direction between East Short Street and Winchester Road, according to Lexington Traffic Management. The closures were initially expected to begin Monday, but weather caused the work to be delayed to Tuesday morning.
It is possible that Tuesday morning rush hour traffic will be affected, according to traffic management. The work is expected to continue until mid-December.
The sewer project began in July and is part of a nearly $600 million sewer and stormwater overhaul.
