Lexington crash injures juvenile standing near intersection, driver leaves scene

Lexington police were searching Monday night for one of two drivers involved in a crash that sent a juvenile to a local hospital.

Officers were called to the intersection of Woodhill Drive at Hedgewood Drive at about 5:40 p.m. Monday night for a report of a vehicle that struck a child. When they arrived, officers found that two cars had collided in the intersection, and before coming to a stop had struck a juvenile, according to police.

The juvenile was taken to a local hospital with injuries that were not thought to be life-threatening, police Lt. Nate Muller said.

No other injuries were reported in the crash, Muller said. As of about 9:30 p.m. Monday, police were still searching for one of the drivers, who left the scene on foot after the crash, Muller said.
