One of two killed in New Circle Road crash identified as Williamstown woman
Two people died Wednesday afternoon in a crash on New Circle Road at Leestown Road, according to officials and news reports.
Bethany Sue Staub, 21, of Williamstown died of blunt force trauma at University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital at about 4:18 p.m., according to the Fayette County coroner’s office.
The name of the other person who was killed in the crash has not yet been released.
The crash happened when a vehicle lost control on the outer loop of New Circle Road near Leestown Road, crossed the median and struck another car, according to WKYT, the Herald-Leader’s reporting partner. Both of the people who died were in the car that crossed the median, and several people from the other car were taken to a hospital, the news station reported.
The road was closed for several hours as police investigated the crash, according to the Lexington Traffic Management Center.
