Lexington to reopen city-owned golf courses with new social distancing requirements
Lexington’s city-owned golf courses will reopen Wednesday, with some new social distancing rules in place.
The city said in a news release Saturday that golf carts will be limited to one passenger each, and tee times will be spaced 15 minutes apart. Staff will sanitize golf carts between rounds.

The five courses have been closed since March 27, when the city shut down all its skate parks, playing fields and golf courses to help stop the spread of the coronavirus.
The city expanded the closings to include playgrounds and park restrooms several days later.
On Saturday, Lexington Parks and Recreation also announced the cancellations of several May events, including the Big Band and Jazz concerts set for May 19 and 26 at Moondance Amphitheater; Southland Jamboree, scheduled for May 28 at Moondance; and Friday Flicks scheduled for May 29 at Jacobson Park.
Parks and rec had already canceled all events through April 20.
