‘Obey.’ Plane writes message above Lexington, leaves people guessing what it means

A plane writing the message “obey” in the sky caught the attention of Lexington residents Tuesday afternoon.

Onlookers from the University of Kentucky campus said the cryptic message was written several times before the plane moved to another area.

The intent is not clear, but the message could be a reference to Gov. Andy Beshear’s recent order for Kentuckians to wear masks to help prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus.

Initial attempts to reach the possible pilot were unsuccessful.
