No injuries after plane makes emergency landing at Blue Grass Airport
A United Airlines flight made an emergency landing at Blue Grass Airport Monday evening, and there were no injuries onboard, according to Amy Caudill, director of communications at the airport, and a company statement from GoJet Airlines.
According to the company statement, while en route from Charlotte to Chicago, pilots on flight No. 4404 received an indicator message that required the plane to land immediately.
Caudill said the airport received a message that assistance was needed on the runway a little after 7 p.m., and minutes later, the plane landed safely.
The plane, a CRJ-550 according to the company statement, taxied to the gate and all 46 passengers on board left the aircraft, the company said. The plane remains out of service in Lexington and passengers on flight No. 4404 later boarded another jet that took them to their final destination of Chicago, FlightAware data shows.
“Safety is the top priority for GoJet Airlines. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by this situation,” the company statement read.
Caudill said she doesn’t believe there were any subsequent delays at the airport.
