Part of Appomattox Road between Della Drive and Holly Springs Drive will be closed starting Monday for two weeks, city officials said.
Drivers can use Holly Springs Drive, Beacon Hill and Della Drive to detour around the closure.
The closure will affect drop off at James Lane Allen Elementary School, which is on Appomattox Road.
James Lane Allen Elementary parents and guardians who pick up children in the afternoon are asked to line up on Appomattox Drive, on the school side, toward Maywick Drive to accommodate the car line.
The closure is necessary to install new sewer pipe in the area which is part of the city’s obligation to increase sewer and stormwater capacity under an Environmental Protection Agency consent decree.
