Median sale price of Lexington homes reaches 3-year peak. Explore sales trends for area

As more Americans are working from home than ever before, home-buying has become more popular. As a result, the median sale price of Lexington homes is the highest it’s been since early 2020, at $269,422.

The peak median price was $266,875 in 2021 and $236,876 in 2020, according to Redfin Area Metro Data.

As of February, Lexington is considered a seller’s market by Realtor.com, meaning there are more people looking to buy homes than the number of homes for sale. The site also said the median time a Lexington home is on the market is currently 37 days.

The 811 homes for sale in Lexington listed on Realtor.com range in price from $14,900 to $11 million.

Zillow estimates the value of a typical Lexington home currently sits at $266,334, a number that has risen 15.9% over the last year.

Redfin’s analysis differs from Realtor.com, instead reporting Lexington homes only stay on the market for a median of six days before selling. Redfin also said a total of 282 city homes sold in February.

The site rates today’s Lexington market at 82% on its competitiveness scale, because many homes get multiple offers with contingencies waived. Homes are selling above list price 46.9% of the time, a 24-point year-to-year increase.
