Lexington fire truck involved in minor accident near UK’s campus

A Lexington Fire Department truck was involved in an accident near the University of Kentucky’s campus Friday morning.

Maj. Jessica Bowman with the Lexington Fire Department said a truck was responding to a report of a private alarm with its lights and sirens on when it was hit by a vehicle in the intersection of S. Limestone and Washington Avenue. Bowman said the truck had cleared the intersection and was making a turn onto Washington when the collision occurred.

No injuries were reported from either vehicle, Bowman said. Damage to both vehicles was described as minimal.

Bowman said the fire truck will remain in service.
