Lexington motorcyclist killed in a crash on New Circle Road, officials say

A motorcyclist was killed early Wednesday morning after being involved in an accident on New Circle Road, according to Lexington police.

The accident happened in the outbound lanes of New Circle Road at Nicholasville Road at approximately 2:46 a.m., said Lt. Daniel Truex with the Lexington Police Department. Details about what caused the accident weren’t available, but Truex said it involved a motorcyclist and a passenger car.

Both drivers were sent to the hospital. Truex said the driver of the passenger car had non-life-threatening injuries while the motorcyclist died at the hospital.

The Fayette County coroner identified the motorcyclist is Yuriy Aube, 26. He was pronounced dead at 3:42 a.m. from multiple blunt trauma injuries.

Truex said the driver of the car is not facing charges at this time.

The road was shut down while officials investigated the scene. The road reopened at roughly 5:30 a.m.
