Lexington is doing a survey about environmental issues. Here’s what you need to know

LFUCG

The city of Lexington is doing a survey to better assess its communication related to environmental issues.

Starting this week, residents may receive a phone call, letter or email with a request to participate in the survey about environmental concerns in Lexington, city officials said Tuesday.

OpinionWorks, a research firm hired by the city to conduct and analyze the survey, will select some residents to do a phone call survey. The survey phone number that will appear on phones is 410-280-2000.

If you receive a call from OpinionWorks here’s what to expect:

  • Calls will come in on both land lines and cell phones.
  • A professional, live caller will interview you in either English or Spanish (your choice).
  • It will take about 15 minutes to complete the survey.
  • Calls will be made during daytime or evening hours.
  • Only residents 25 and over will be asked to participate.

Residents asked to participate by mail will receive a packet that contains a survey and a postage paid envelope that can be used to return the completed survey. There will also be a link in the packet for those who prefer to complete the survey online.

Those being asked to participate online will receive an email with a link to the survey, which can be completed in either English or Spanish.

All responses will be anonymous.

The information will be used to determine how Lexington can improve the environment and better communicate with residents.

A report summarizing the data will be made available to the public in the fall of 2022.
