Three people were taken to the hospital and inbound Harrodsburg Road was shut down for hours after a collision at Wellington Way Tuesday night.

Lexington police Lt. Dillan Taylor said the driver of a passenger car suffered a medical emergency and ran a red light, hitting the passenger side of a truck at about 6 p.m. The truck flipped, and the passenger in the truck suffered a “significant” but not life-threatening injury, Taylor said. He said the driver of the passenger car and a third person were also taken to a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

He said power to the intersection was still out as of about 8 p.m. and would likely remain off for several hours.

“It’s going to be a slowdown for several hours,” Taylor said.
