The Lexington Parent-Teacher Store off Keithshire Way has announced that it’s closing its doors.

The announcement came in mid-October. In the comments section of a Facebook post, the store owners said they made their decision because of COVID-19, supply chain issues and high inflation rates.

The store will remain open until the end of December. The store is selling everything at 30% off prior to closure.

“We will miss the conversations and face-to-face contact with parents, teachers, business people, kids, and grandparents,” the store said in a Facebook post.

The store will remain open online after its in-person closing.

Chriss La Rue, a retired Navy commander, and Meg La Rue, a fourth grade teacher in Lexington, bought the store in 2020 when the previous owner retired.
