68-year-old Central Kentucky woman killed in a Lexington crash, coroner says
A 68-year-old woman died in a car accident in Lexington Friday afternoon, according to the Fayette County Coroner’s Office.
The woman was identified by the coroner as Jo Etta Allen of Paris. She was pronounced dead from multiple blunt force injuries shortly after arriving at University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital after the accident.
The collision was reported by the Lexington Traffic Management Center just before 4:30 p.m. Friday. It happened on Winchester Road at the intersection of North Cleveland Road.
It was a head-on collision involving two vehicles, police said. Two people, including Allen, were sent to the hospital.
Police shut down Winchester Road between Man o’ War Boulevard and Haley Road while they investigated the scene. The traffic management center said the road wasn’t reopened until 6:48 p.m.
