The Lexington Veterans Festival has been canceled because of inclement weather.

The city announced Friday afternoon that the event, scheduled for 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Masterson Station Park, had been called off because of rain and a forecast calling for a mixture of rain and snow, along with cold temperatures, Saturday.

The city said many of the main activities, “including live music, inflatables and an obstacle course,” were no longer possible, and many of the vendors would not have been able to come.

“The organizing committee, a component of the city’s Commission on Veterans’ Affairs, had worked hard for many months, organizing the event,” the news release stated. “The group is focused on bringing the best event possible to celebrate our veterans, and is heartbroken to make the decision to cancel the event.”

The city said the group hopes to reschedule for mid-2023.
