A man died and two people were injured after a collision that shut down Newtown Pike near the Scott County line Friday afternoon.
The Fayette County coroner’s office said Alan Eugene Reece, 71, died at 5:15 p.m. as a result of multiple blunt force injuries sustained in a collision in the 4700 block of Newtown Pike.
Lexington police Lt. Jeremiah Davis said police responded to the crash involving two passenger vehicles at 4:25 p.m. He said the two other people involved sustained injuries that were not thought to be life-threatening.
