Updated: Woman seriously injured after car accident on New Circle Road, Lexington police say

A woman suffered serious injuries Tuesday night in a single-vehicle accident on New Circle Road, according to police.

The accident was reported to police around 8:30 p.m., according to Lt. Samantha Moore with the Lexington Police Department. It happened near the Versailles Road exit on the outer loop of New Circle Road.

The driver of the SUV went off the right side of the road and struck a tree, according to Moore. She was sent to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police said they still didn’t have an update on the woman’s condition Thursday morning.

The collision reconstruction unit was called out to the scene to investigate, Moore said, but the cause of the accident hasn’t yet been determined.
