Watch: Reviews of Lexington, straight from the horse’s mouth via TV pet psychic
Ever wonder what horses would say about the Bluegrass if they could talk?
Well, VisitLex, the Lexington Convention and Visitors Bureau, apparently did and set out to find out.
In a new ad campaign video, made by Lexington agency Cornett, TV psychic medium Carrie Kenady, who has appeared on “Fright Club” on Discovery+ and “Ghost Brothers: Haunted Houseguests” on the Travel Channel, helped provide what VisitLex calls “the world’s first travel review by horses.”
Kenady visited the famed Mill Ridge Farm with owner Headley Bell, where she shared the thoughts of several horses, a barn cat and even stallion Oscar Performance, on living in Lexington.
Since Thoroughbred mares come to Kentucky from all over to breed, seems like some of them would have told her, “It’s a great place to come if you’re looking to get pregnant and hang out with other moms to be!”
But they apparently kept things pretty G-rated: A horse from Canada says in a five-star review, “The bluegrass tastes sweet!”
Even stallion Oscar Performance, who “has a huge personality,” according to Kenady, stayed out of the shed: No “The girls here are so flirty!”
His review, under the name Breeders’ Cup Badboy: “Keeneland is a lot of fun!”
Since the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf winner finished fifth in his only race at the Lexington track, maybe he was thinking about the general atmosphere or the track’s famous Maker’s Mark bread pudding.
Penny the Barn Cat, who reviewed under her own name, apparently was the most candid, telling Kenady: “Lexington is amazing. I saw a raccoon!”
Yes, it’s all true: If you come to the Bluegrass you, too, might see lots of horses, grass, races and probably raccoons.
