How much house will $335,000 get you these days if you’re shopping in Lexington?
As of January, that figure was the median home sale price in Fayette County, according to the latest data from the property valuation administrator.
Of course, homebuyers might pay more or less, but if you’re going straight down the middle pricewise, what kind of homes are out there waiting for you?
To get at that question, and offer a snapshot of the local housing market, we’re launching our new Price Point series. We’ll regularly feature several homes that have recently sold in the area for roughly the same price, but are located in different parts of Lexington and Fayette County.
2916 Sandersville Road
This single-family home totals 2,503 square feet and has four beds and three baths. It sold for $335,000 Dec. 21, according to its Realtor.com listing.
Located in Masterson Station on a 7,553-square-foot lot, the home is only about a five-minute walk from Sandersville Elementary School. The edge of Masterson Station Park is just up the street, and downtown Lexington is only a 20-minute commute away, if that.
The home itself is a ranch-style house with a walk-out basement and two-car garage. The interior features a split bedroom floor plan, formal dining area, eat-in kitchen, a large primary room and open living room with a fireplace and a large bonus area in the basement, the home’s listing said.
The home also features a sizable deck and backyard, one with a tall privacy fence and enough space for a dog to run.
Recent updates to the home include vinyl flooring, paint and light fixtures near the entrance, dining room and kitchen, according to the listing.

Totaling 2,114 square feet, this single-family home has three bedrooms and two-and-a-half baths. It sold Dec. 30 for $335,000, according to the home’s online listing.
Located just down the street from the Hamburg area, the home is only a few minutes away from Lexington’s shopping, dining and entertainment district. You could make a trip to Costco in five minutes, for example.
In the opposite direction, Garrett Morgan Elementary School is just down the street or a 20-minute walk away.
As for the home itself, it features an open concept and hardwood floors throughout the first floor, according to its listing. The home’s family room has a gas fireplace with a custom mantel, and there’s an open kitchen with modern, stainless steel appliances and a sunny breakfast area.
Bonus space near the home’s entrance can be used as an office. The second floor has a large suite, two additional bedrooms and a hallway bathroom.
