Central Kentucky church catches fire after vehicle crashes into it, officials say

Officials in Frankfort had a section of U.S. 460 shut down temporarily Tuesday after investigating a collision that ended in a church catching on fire, according to Frankfort-Franklin County Office of Emergency Management.

The accident happened on Georgetown Road and Seminole Trail. Officials said multiple vehicles were involved in the collision. One vehicle hit a gas meter and struck The Church of Pentecost, causing a structure fire.

The road was closed down for approximately one hour while officials cleared the scene. WKYT, the Herald-Leader’s news-reporting partner, reported that one person suffered injuries, but it was unclear how significant those injuries were.
