Heads Up: Lane closures planned for this key, busy stretch of I-75 in Fayette County
Repairs to a busy stretch of Interstate 75 in southern Fayette County will close several lanes of traffic starting Tuesday, Kentucky Transportation Cabinet officials announced Monday.
The repairs are necessary to fix traffic counting sensors in that area.
Work will begin Tuesday on a section of I-75 between Man O War Boulevard, exit 108, and the Clays Ferry Bridge, mile marker 98.
The lane closures will be at night from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. and will continue until March 20.
Transportation officials said lane closures begin Tuesday night starting southbound between the Fayette County/Madison County line and Old Richmond Road.
On Wednesday, travelers can expect some southbound lane closures between Todds Road and Man O War.
On Thursday, some northbound lanes between Todds Road and Man O War will be closed.
On Monday,March 20, some northbound lanes between Old Richmond Road and the Fayette County/Madison County line will be closed.
Scheduled maintenance work can change depending on weather conditions, transportation officials cautioned.
The scheduled lane closures could cause significant traffic back ups at night.
