Updated: Truck flips on its side after driver runs light at downtown Lexington intersection

Two drivers were sent to a hospital Tuesday morning after being involved in a crash in downtown Lexington that left a pickup truck on its side, according to Lexington police.

The crash happened around 10 a.m. at the intersection of South Broadway and W. Vine Street, according to Lt. Samantha Moore with the Lexington Police Department. Investigators determined a vehicle traveling inbound on South Broadway ran a red light at Vine Street and hit a pickup truck, causing it to flip on its side.

Both drivers suffered minor injuries but were sent to a hospital, Moore said.

No charges are expected to be filed, according to Moore.

Officials had the intersection blocked off while they investigated, but the road reportedly reopened just before 11 a.m.
