Coroner identifies man who drowned after crashing into Lexington water retention basin

A 23-year-old man drowned after his vehicle crashed into a retention basin in Lexington Saturday morning.

The Fayette County coroner’s office said Greshon Higgins was pronounced dead at 9:52 a.m. at University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital. The coroner’s office said Higgins was involved in a single-vehicle collision in which his vehicle flipped and landed on its top in the water retention basin.

The crash was reported at 9:17 a.m. in the Woodhill Drive area, WKYT reported.
