New women-led talk show premiering this week on ABC 36 in Lexington. Meet the hosts.
A new lifestyle show featuring four female journalists and influencers will debut on WTVQ next Monday, the TV news station in Lexington announced Monday.
“Let’s Talk Kentucky” will have similarities to ABC’s “The View,” WTVQ said. It will debut next Monday airing on ABC 36 weekdays at 12:30 p.m.
The show will give women in Central Kentucky a platform to share their perspectives with the ABC 36’s audience. WTVQ said the show will be the first of its kind for its market and will discuss issues facing the region and how to meet those challenges together.
“It’s a celebration of everything that makes Kentucky great,” said ABC 36 News Director Miranda Combs. “It’s those conversations that everyone is talking about — and it’s helping people find the solutions and tools to empower them to live their best life.”
The show will be broken up into four segments. Each segment will either discuss and react to local issues or feature guests to facilitate the conversations.
“Every show will bring valuable, useful information and leave the people of Bluegrass feeling more connected to their community,” said station manager Chris Aldridge. “It also allows guests to share their passion, grow their brand message and personally connect with the audience.”
Leading the show will be Sherelle Roberts, a television reporter, public information officer for the Lexington Police Department and public relations lead for the Cabinet for Public Protection. WTVQ said Roberts is finishing up her Ph.D. in political psychology at the University of Kentucky.
“I have always had a love for people and making our community a better place,” Roberts said in a press release. “Central Kentucky has so much to offer when it comes to food, explorations, arts and entertainment; I can’t wait to share it all with you! There is never a dull day in the Bluegrass, and I am excited to showcase everything that goes on here.”
The other panelists are Lyssa High, Susan Mills and Kim Dixon.
High is the co-anchor of ABC 36 News at Noon with her husband, Doug High. She is also a former singer/songwriter and a longtime volunteer for Scott County Bluegrass Search and Rescue.
Mills is a special needs children’s book author, philanthropist and artist. She’s also married to former UK basketball star, Cameron Mills.
Dixon is a theatrical and commercial makeup artist who owns her own commercial voiceover studio.
