Traffic alert: Lane changes coming to Lexington’s popular Distillery District
A portion of a street that heads into one of Lexington’s most popular restaurant and bar districts will move to one-way starting Monday, city officials said this week.
Manchester Street will be one way from the railroad tracks to Oliver Lewis Way beginning Monday and will continue for the next four weeks. The one-way change in the Distillery District will allow for improvements to the Town Branch Trail which runs on or along Manchester Street.
Drivers not will be able to turn right from Oliver Lewis Way onto Manchester during the four weeks, city officials have said. Motorists are encouraged to take Versailles Road to South Forbes Road and then to Manchester to access the popular Distillery District.
Motorists are asked to drive carefully through the project area and be aware of flaggers and lane changes.
