Updated: Inmate detained in Lexington after allegedly escaping from facility

An armed and dangerous suspect in Lexington has been apprehended after he allegedly escaped a facility Wednesday, according to the Fleming County Sheriff’s Office.

Kyle Skaggs was arrested by Lexington police at a residence on East Seventh Street at approximately 1 a.m., according to his arrest citation. Court documents indicate he has been charged with second-degree escape out of Jefferson County.

Skaggs was being held at the Fayette County Detention Center as of Thursday.

Skaggs was incarcerated at a facility in Lexington prior to his escape, the sheriff’s office previously said. It’s unknown what facility he got away from or why he was incarcerated.

Skaggs previously lived on Foxspring Avenue in Flemingsburg before he was incarcerated, according to the sheriff’s office.
