Updated: 18-year-old woman dies in a Lexington motorcycle crash, police say

A woman in Lexington died after being involved in a motorcycle crash early Monday morning, according to Lexington police.

The Fayette County Coroner’s Office identified the woman as 18-year-old Jillian Pendergrass. She was pronounced dead at University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital from multiple blunt force injuries.

A Fayette County Public Schools’ spokesperson said Pendergrass was a 2022 graduate of Lafayette High School.

The crash happened around midnight at the intersection of Man o’ War Boulevard and Armstrong Mill Road, according to Sgt. Thomas Johnston with the Lexington Police Department. A police officer was out on patrol when they saw the woman hit a light pole while riding a motorcycle.

The young woman died as a result of the crash, Johnston said.
