Motorcyclist killed in hit and run crash in Lexington. Police looking for other driver

One person was killed in Lexington Thursday evening in a hit-and-run, according to the Lexington Police Department.

The crash happened around 10:30 p.m. at the intersection of S. Broadway and Angliana Avenue. Lt. Meredith Taylor with LPD said the crash involved two vehicles and one of the drivers was pronounced dead on scene.

The Fayette County Coroner’s Office identified 20-year-old Jerry Creech as the victim in the crash. The coroner’s office said Creech was driving a motorcycle when he collided with another vehicle. Creech’s manner of death was labeled as an accident, according to the coroner’s office.

The other vehicle involved was not present when officers arrived. Taylor said investigators were searching for that other vehicle Friday morning.

The Collision Reconstruction Unit responded to the scene to conduct an investigation, Taylor said. The road has since reopened.
