Family says man killed in Lexington motorcycle wreck will be ‘very missed.’
The younger sister of a 20-year-old motorcyclist who was killed in a hit-and-run motorcycle crash in Lexington remembers the last conversation she had with her brother fondly.
Jenna Switzer is a freshman at Eastern Kentucky University. She said when she told her brother about her admission into EKU, Jerry “Alex” Creech told her congratulations and that he would be available to help her with anything at any time.
“He was always there for people if you needed him,” Switzer said.
Creech died Thursday in a motorcycle wreck at the intersection of S. Broadway and Angliana Avenue, according to the Lexington Police Department. The Fayette County Coroner’s Office said Creech was driving a motorcycle when he collided with another vehicle. Creech’s manner of death was labeled as an accident, according to the coroner’s office.
Police said after the wreck they were looking for the other vehicle involved. Sgt. Guy Miller with Lexington police said the investigation into the wreck remained ongoing Monday.
Switzer described Creech as a daring and outgoing person. His obituary said his hobbies were skateboarding, wakeboarding, skiing and collecting t-shirts.
Creech attended Woodford County High School and was a diver specialist for Custom Recreational Diving, according to his obituary. It said he loved his family and friends more than anything.
“He’s going to be a very missed person and we all love him,” Switzer said.
