Neighbor alerts residents of Lexington house fire. Responders contain damage
A fire left damage to a Lexington home Tuesday morning, according to the Lexington Fire Department.
The fire was reported at about 6:50 a.m. in the 4200 block of Steamboat Road, which is just off Man O’ War Boulevard near Waverly Park. Several fire department trucks responded to the scene as soon as the call was received, according to fire department dispatch information.
District Chief Scott Marshall from LFD said a neighbor saw the fire, alerted the residents and called 911. Marshall said the fire started outside at the back of the house, and that’s where most of the damage occurred. The house is salvageable, Marshall said, but the residents will have to find temporary housing while repairs are made.
A handful of firefighters remained on scene about an hour after the initial call.
