Lexington pedestrian seriously injured after a hit-and-run, police say

A pedestrian in Lexington was seriously injured Friday morning when they were hit by a car, according to the Lexington Police Department.

The incident happened around 12:41 a.m. on South Broadway near Bucoto Court. Lt. Jesse Palmer with LPD said a vehicle hit a pedestrian and fled before officials arrived.

The pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital, Palmer said.

There is no suspect or vehicle description for the car that hit the pedestrian, according to Palmer. Investigators were searching for the vehicle Friday morning.

The Collision Reconstruction Unit responded to investigate the crash, according to Palmer.
