Fayette coroner: Pedestrian has died after a crash in Lexington

A 60-year-old woman was hit by a vehicle and killed Monday night, according to the Fayette County Coroner’s Office.

The coroner’s office identified the victim as Trina Tolson, of Lexington. Tolson was declared dead at the scene at 8:48 p.m. from traumatic injuries to the torso, the coroner’s office said.

The wreck was labeled as an accident, according to the coroner’s office.

Lt. Meredith Taylor with the Lexington Police Department said the crash happened just before 8:30 p.m. in the 1100 block of Winchester Road. The Lexington Traffic Management Center said it happened between Loudon Avenue and Strader Drive.

It’s unclear what led up to the collision or if the driver will face any charges.

LPD’s Collision Reconstruction Unit responded to the scene to conduct an investigation, which was still ongoing Tuesday morning. Taylor said the road has since reopened.
