Death investigation underway after a body was found in Lexington, police say
The Lexington Police Department is conducting a death investigation after a body was found Thursday, an officer said.
At approximately 8:45 a.m. police were dispatched to the 6900 block of Man O’ War Boulevard for a report of a subject down, according to Lt. Meredith Taylor with Lexington police. When officers and firefighters arrived, they found one person dead.
The body was found at a home, according to Herald-Leader reporting partner WKYT. The 6900 block of Man O’ War Boulevard is a rural area east of Interstate 75.
The Fayette County Coroner’s Office will release the person’s identity after family members are notified.
No other details about the death investigation have been released.
